I’m excited to say that I’ve finally found a job! Starting Monday I’ll be the social media consultant for a local fashion brand that is headed by and comprised entirely of women. For now it’s a part-time job but that works great for me. It allows me to save up for any possible plans (whether it’s to rent an apartment or finally travel abroad to report as a freelance journalist) and to continue looking for a full time reporting job.

I’ll also be working on a side project relating to newspapers so that’s exciting as well.

Right now I’m planning my social media marketing plan, which involves a lot of research (like looking for fashion blogs right here on Tumblr) as well as establishing a game plan for Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest. Can’t wait to jump into this new project!

Today I’m going in for my very first job interview. I’m extremely excited and nervous all at the same time. I did all my homework and put together my best interview outfit. Getting this interview has given me an incredible boost of encouragement about my future career. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it goes well.

My parents and friends have given me some great advice, but I’d love to hear what everyone else thinks.

Do you have any interview advice?
